Pictures out of the way: New Year’s Eve | Sean’s Going Away Party

So.

I started out being a little sick on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Then it really got bad on Monday. Stayed home Tuesday, and felt a little better today going to the bar today. I was afraid the cigarette smoke might exacerbate my symptoms, but I’m actually not feeling too bad right now. We’ll see if that changes in the morning.

The novel is coming along. But I’ve also been motivated to revise things. That also includes feeling absolutely overwhelmed on where to send anything. It’s totally not an excuse, I know.

And I’ve been kinda almost too drawn in by The Fountain, which is a beautifully shot film and has some nice dialogue in places, but it felt a little under-realized. But my god Hugh Jackman. Jesus that boy is pretty.

I have an idea for a post about bartending and my not being a feminist, but that’ll have to wait.

so, I’m reading tonight.

And I’ve only got about 8 minutes of time, so I’m pretty sure I know what I’m going to read– the prologue to the novel. It’s only a few pages single-spaced, so it should be plenty.

And I might read that newish poem I wrote back in September, but I don’t know if I’ll have enough time. Or if I even feel like reading it. I’ll look at it when I get home.

That’s all.

(I have upcoming pictures from New Year’s and Sean’s Going Away Shindig this past weekend. This week, hopefully.)

a year and its soundtrack, 2007.

This year has been a fantastic finish to my 20′s. I don’t think there was any better way to live as 29 for me this year. I hit every goal I’d set out for myself at the beginning of the year. But let’s recap.

the first entry of the new year is useless, and so what?

But I do have a couple of entries.  Soon.

I’ve been up and down sick (or almost getting there) for the past week.  But I’m alive, and have things to talk about.
